Are you mad(bees) to trust us?

The sister duo behind the UK’s first women’s-only cycling & triathlon brand

We are madbees, the UK’s first women’s-only cycling and triathlon brand. madbees was co-founded in 2025 by Maddy and Bea, two sisters who share a love for endurance sports, style, and helping women feel confident and empowered on their bikes and in their kit. How did we decide to start a brand? Well, here’s the story…

How hard can it be? Boys do it.

Both of us fell in love with cycling and triathlon in our early twenties. We loved the long rides, the satisfaction of crossing finish lines, and the incredible community found around endurance sports. But with this new love interest, we quickly found a big red flag: the gear. Finding kit that ticked all the boxes a 20-something year old female athlete wanted proved tricky. We wanted kit that fitted well, looked good, and made us feel confident (and without the ridiculous price tags). Women's options were often ill-fitting, overly tacky, or simply unflattering. And if you wanted something minimalist, chic, and women specific? Good luck.

“Unisex clothing is always designed to a male’s specification. You never find female specific clothing labelled as unisex.”

Aaargh. That frustration turned into inspiration. As the gear didn’t exist, why not make it ourselves? And so, madbees was born.

So, why can you trust us?

It’s one thing to make a business. It’s another to create a brand. A brand built on trust that those behind it actually know what they’re talking about. Here’s why we believe you can trust our advice:

1. Experience you can count on

Yes we are young. But we are the demographic we are aiming our product at. So it is in our best interest to create something we want. We’ve trained and raced from beginners to competitive age-groupers, at local triathlons to international races. All in the past 5 years. So it’s pretty fresh in our memory. We know what it takes to perform, what gear actually works, and what’s just hype… or influencer’s trying to sell you stuff. Every product we design comes from personal experience, testing, and understanding what women really need.

2. Designed by women, for women

Every jersey, bib, and tri suit is created with a real understanding of female body shapes, comfort needs, and style preferences. Ever worn a unisex T-shirt that just doesn't sit right on your hips? We have different body shapes to men (shorter torsos, curvier features, wider hips, boobs, and so on). Say NO SIR to unflattering designs. We focus on functional, flattering cuts and technical fabrics that actually make your ride or race easier*.

*for legal purposes, we can’t actually promise it will make a triathlon any less hard than it already is. Maybe let’s go with ‘enjoyable’? Especiallyyy when the girls on the side line cheer you on and say how much they love your pink suit ;)

3. Community and authenticity

Our goal isn’t just to sell kit. We’re building a community of young women who love cycling and triathlon, whether you’re just starting out or chasing your next personal best. Our advice, tips, and insights come from lived experience, not marketing scripts or influencer brand deals. We want everyone to feel welcome here, wherever you’re at in your journey… even if you haven’t bought your first bike yet!

What you can expect from future blogs…

We’d love you to sign up to our mailing list to join our growing community of wonderful women. We promise not to spam your inbox, we’ll just let you know about the exciting stuff! Our articles will be a chance to share everything we’ve learned on our journey, from FTP’s and fuelling, to buying bikes and the behind the scenes of madbees.

We promise to keep it real, practical, and most importantly, fun. Think of this blog as a space to feel inspired, informed, and supported. No judgement, no fluff. We’ve felt the frustration and learned the lessons so you don’t have to. Our mission is to make cycling and triathlon more enjoyable, more stylish, and more accessible for women everywhere.

So welcome. Stick around, read, learn, and join the community. We’re just getting started and we can’t wait to share it all with you. <3
